Wholesale Supplier for Bars, Clubs and Hospitality

A bar, a nightclub, a hotel or a restaurant buys very little that the customer ever sees on a shelf. What it buys is the stock that keeps the room running: washroom supplies, cleaning and sanitation, paper goods, snacks, mixers and soft drinks, staff welfare items. Most of that is bought badly — in small quantities, at cash-and-carry prices, by whoever noticed the cupboard was empty at 6pm on a Friday.

American General Distributors supplies factory-sealed, genuine branded consumable stock to bars, clubs, hotels, restaurants and hospitality groups across the United States. We do not supply alcohol. What we supply is everything else the room consumes, at wholesale, in one order.

What a hospitality operator actually buys from us

Our range is grocery and gourmet, health and household, personal care, pet supplies and trading cards. For a hospitality buyer, that maps onto the back-of-house basket more closely than it first looks:

  • Washroom and guest-facing personal care. Hand soap, sanitiser, tissues, wipes, and the small items a hotel or a club washroom gets judged on.
  • Cleaning and sanitation. Surface cleaners, degreasers, dish and laundry products, and the household stock that a kitchen and a housekeeping team go through fastest.
  • Paper and disposables. The category nobody tracks until it runs out mid-service.
  • Snacks, mixers and soft drinks. Bar snacks, non-alcoholic mixers, energy drinks, coffee and pantry goods from our grocery and gourmet range.
  • Staff-room and welfare stock. Basic health and household items, first-aid consumables, and the pantry items that keep a break room stocked.

If you run a venue with a shop, a gift counter or a claw machine — a family entertainment centre, a hotel lobby, a bowling alley — we also supply sealed trading card product, which sells at a counter for the same reason it sells at a convenience till.

Why hospitality buying goes wrong

Three things cost hospitality operators money on consumables, and none of them is the unit price.

Emergency buying. A manager sent to a cash-and-carry mid-week pays retail-adjacent prices, spends two hours of paid time, and buys whatever is on the shelf rather than what the venue uses. Doing that four times a month is more expensive than the difference between any two wholesale quotes.

Too many suppliers. Separate accounts for paper, chemicals, washroom and snacks means four minimums, four deliveries and four invoices. Consolidating the non-food, non-alcohol basket into one order removes most of that administration.

No usage record. Very few venues know how many cases of hand soap or dish detergent they get through in a month. Without that, every order is a guess — usually too little of what runs out and too much of what does not.

Ordering around service

Hospitality runs on a cycle that has nothing to do with a normal retail week. Your quiet hours are our office hours, and your busiest nights are when you discover what you are short of.

Two things make this work. First, order against a cycle rather than against a crisis: pick a fixed ordering day that sits well before your busiest period, and buy to that rhythm. Second, use the channel that suits the hour. Our WhatsApp chat is staffed 24/7, so a question at 1am after close gets answered; a call back can be arranged between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM EST, Monday to Saturday, when you are free to take it.

Where the stock sits

Before you place a large consolidated order, work out where it goes. Hospitality venues are usually short of dry storage and long of awkward corners, and a delivery that will not fit is worse than one that is late.

Check three things: the dry storage you can actually clear, the separation you need between cleaning chemicals and anything consumable, and whether your delivery access takes a pallet or only hand-unloaded cases. Tell us which, and we will size the order to the space rather than to the price break.

Multi-site and group operators

If you run several venues, buy centrally and split locally. One order that clears the minimum and is broken down across sites nearly always beats each venue ordering separately, because the small sites stop being priced as small buyers. Tell our team how many locations you are covering and we will structure the order so it splits cleanly on arrival.

The $5,000 minimum order value

Our minimum order value is $5,000. That applies to the whole order and not to any single product, and you can mix freely across everything we carry to reach it.

For a hospitality buyer this is usually the easiest minimum in the trade to hit, because the basket is broad by nature. A single order that covers a quarter of washroom stock, a month of cleaning and sanitation, paper goods and the bar snack range will normally pass $5,000 without stretching anything.

If your order will come in below $5,000, contact our team by email or WhatsApp chat and we will look at it with you. Questions about minimum quantities on a specific product are answered the same way, because those quantities move with the manufacturer.

Paperwork before your first order

Wholesale accounts are for businesses buying for resale or for use in a licensed trade. Before your first order we will ask for your EIN and a valid resale certificate for your state. Having both ready when you register is the difference between a first order that ships this week and one that waits.

How you pay and when it ships

Orders are settled by ACH bank transfer, which is our recommended method. Wire transfer and card payment through Plastiq are available on request — contact our team and we will set that up.

Stock is despatched 3–5 business days after payment clears, from stock held in the United States, and you receive tracking as soon as it ships. We supply across the USA and internationally, including Canada, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Australia, Europe, Singapore, Korea and Japan.

Common questions from hospitality buyers

Do you supply alcohol?
No. We supply the non-alcoholic side of the venue — mixers, soft drinks, snacks, washroom, cleaning and paper goods.

Can I order for one venue only?
Yes, provided the order reaches $5,000. Most single-site venues get there by combining a quarter of washroom and cleaning stock with their snack and mixer range.

Is everything sealed?
Yes. Every unit ships factory-sealed in manufacturer packaging.

Can you hold a repeat order?
Tell us what you used last time and we will quote the same basket, so a reorder is a confirmation rather than a rebuild.

Opening a wholesale account

Send us the categories you go through fastest and roughly how much of each you use in a month, and we will come back with a first order sized to your storage and your service cycle.
